So, this weekend at Faro for the Microsoft Web and Game Technologies organized by Francisco Machado (MSP at Algarve University). We had some great sessions and a nice co-fraternization with the local students.
The Saturday started with Ricardo Portela showing the ASP.net capabilities and how is easy for the students developing webpages.
Nelson Correia ended with AJAX technology with samples and an overview.
Next was time for talking about the Imagine Cup challenge, no big deal but just to remember the rules of this year. Specially because this year we have the game development challenge instead of web interface.
Time for Windows Vista, César Mendes gave his student view about what we can do with Windows Vista.
And when we talk about Vista it means or someone expects hear about the new Office and for that mission André Sousa was the "private" of service. He accomplished showing in the new version of Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint some cool features about it.

After that was also time for the Web technologies, I talked about silverlight and how Silverlight light up the websites.
For the night was time to have a relax time with dinner and disco for all delegates and speakers.

Sunday born with a migraine for some people but the session about .net framework 3.5 given by me, Bruno Silva and André Sousa took it away. I spoken about WPF and WCF, Bruno showed WWF and CardSpace, and André spoken about LinQ.

For the end of this great event Nelson Correia made a great session about XNA with a nice and cool sample.

Congratulations for all the delegates and for the speaker and a special thanks to Francisco Machado.

ASP.net 3.5 extensions is available as a CTP with a dynamic data support. You can see this new feature in action with a screencast of David Ebbo. For futher information ScottGu's blog it is the spot.

One of things that I like very much it’s the HD (High Definition). This technology has being grown since the 90’s. Today we have HD available on some tv’s, at game stations, some films and broadcast television at 2012 at home. It’ll be a great step, I had chance to visit the HD mobile studio of RTP, there they tape for archive in HD format.
But on photography there isn’t anything with HD (780p) and of course less full HD (1080p). Microsoft research has a great beta project in this area. Imagine a photo of a view which we can make zoom on it to see a plant far away from the real distance. With a little plugin and you enable our browser to see HD photos.
This project remember me some films where the police zoom a photo with some distance to see a car plate. With this potential be careful :P
The pictures show the idea but I recommend trying by yourself
The HD technology is expansive and that’s why isn’t vulgar, but for my own experience for instance play HALO 3 in full HD format it’s something amazing!
