What I'm doing?? - Architect; Software Engineering; Methodologies;
For those you are regular visitors of my blog (thanks a lot :)!) maybe notice the low post frequency. yeah... I'm trying finish my degree and the courses are addicted in time! Lately I'm working with some software development methodologies like XP working with Agile, also working with Enterprise Architect for software modulation and software architecture. EA is a great software for this operations, using diagrams (UML), there are templates for many things, I don't know other tool for this but tools as: MSVisio, DIA,SmartUML, etc; are very far for the rigorous and complete functional software as EA.
The EA development team is open for suggestions and feedback and as students and professionals are using, they are sending some feedback and suggestions, and we can the new features as result of that.
One of my favorite field of computer science is the subject around high availability (data and services), complex architectures of applications or services. All days I try to find answers for questions and scenarios like:
How I can develop a system that can't be stopped but needs to change some core features , or some views...?
If I have a system which I need change some features and that stops all application, how can change this? How upgrade for a new architecture to allow this hot-swap for newer version?
In past I worked around some applications and some services with this problems, but in that time the software and the methodologies didn't talk much about this type of architecture. I remember using some web services to insure some services and to exchange data for synchronization and for the merge with newer version. In matter of data, the SQL server had some tools, he grant the ACID properties and integration of multiple and simultaneous transactions. We used some obsolete and ignored some issues of security for sure.
So I'm thinking in something like a conference or some round tables meeting for open discussions of this subjects. let's see.
